John Maxwell's 25 Ways to Win With People:
13. Keep Your Eyes Off the Mirror
Mike's Thoughts:
As a leader, I need to keep my eyes off myself and focus on being and developing servant leaders for future generations.
Mike's Action Points:
1- I will seek an humble servant's spirit.
2- I will focus on helping others to become servant leaders.

This starts with my own children...which could be easier said than done since they are all adults now
ReplyDeleteAs a youth leader in a small church, with very few resources for the youth or outreach programs, it is difficult at times to keep a servant's spirit. What I mean, is that it is tempting to want to "lead" somewhere else where I have adult help and plenty or youth to provide synergy. See,it's easy to farm a field that has already been tilled, planted, maintained with several servants than to lead oneself. I consistently see that God wants me to learn to lead myself before I can lead others.
ReplyDeleteJust something that I try to remember when it is difficult and I want to quit and go to that already "preped field". The Lord said, those that wanted to be the greatest should seek to be the least. It all starts with an humble servant's spirt as you said Mike. Thank you for giving me a forum to let the Spirt tell me the right thing to do. Leader always concerns himself with not so much doing things right but rather on doing the right thing. Right?
